Sustainable Living Lab (SL2)
SL2 specializes in innovation projects that cater to the requirements of the 3P sector (Public, Private, and People).
Overview
Founded in Singapore in 2011, SL2 is a social innovation collective working globally with governments, companies, and grassroots organizations on climate adaptation, circular economies, community inclusion, green technology, and upskilling. With laboratories established in India and Indonesia, the organization has grown from Singapore’s first makerspace into a platform for co-creating real-world solutions across public, private, and social sectors.
What sets SL2 apart is its Living Lab model, pioneered by MIT, which brings together foresight, technology, and community engagement to transform ideas into scalable impact, including building climate resilience hubs, developing AI skilling programs, and nurturing grassroots movements.
SL2 specializes in innovation projects addressing the Technology Skills Gap, Corporate Sustainability Transition, and Zero Waste initiatives, serving the 3P sector across public, private, and people-focused organizations with a commitment to advancing economic, environmental, and social sustainability.
Recognized with the President’s Challenge Youth Social Enterprise of the Year in 2015, SL2 has been driving innovation through makerspaces and hackathons introduced nationwide since 2013.
